Peikko has delivered Gravity Foundation Technology for the Hevosselkä Wind Park, located in Tervola, Northern Finland. The project consists of ten wind turbines manufactured by Vestas with total capacity of 30 MW.

The delivery scope of Peikko consists of foundation design, detailed quality and installation instructions as well as anchoring components.

The customer of the project is Finnish energy company TuuliWatti Oy. YIT is responsible for the planning and construction of the foundations in the project. Peikko’s foundation solution is supplied to five of the ten wind turbine towers to be built in Tervola. The turbines are 3 MW units and the hub height of 140 meters. Peikko’s first deliveries to the site take place in May and June 2012.

The Tervola wind farm located in Lapland is the first of its kind in Finland. The power plant has been designed and developed with Vestas V112 wind turbines, specifically for lower wind conditions on land. The construction of the Tervola wind farm has been funded by Nordea Bank Finland, with other partners being turbine supplier Vestas, project management and electrification Empower, and the foundations being built by YIT.
